The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 have been a long-awaited outcome, whose results will be announced tomorrow, November 14, with counting being done across all 243 constituencies since 8 a.m. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has also prepared detailed arrangements to make sure that there is a peaceful and transparent counting process in all the designated centres in the state.
The elections that were conducted in two parts, on November 6 and November 11, had a significant voter turnout, which was an indicator of the zeal of the voters. More than 7 crore eligible voters used their votes to determine the destiny of major political leaders and parties, which were fighting to control the power of the politically important state.
The key fight is the one between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), headed by the chief minister Nitish Kumar and backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of Tejashwi Yadav and having the Congress and Left parties as its companions. The smaller parties, including the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) of Upendra Kushwaha, also ran independently and tried to create an impact in a few select constituencies.
The Election Commission said that it will count postal ballots first, then votes that have been registered within the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The initial trends will begin to emerge at 9 a.m., and the complete outcomes can be evident at the end of the afternoon or evening. ECI has established good security at all counting centres where paramilitary forces and CCTV surveillance have been deployed to guarantee order and transparency.
The Exit polls have painted a multicoloured picture where a number of them have forecasted that there will be a close call between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. That notwithstanding, the majority of the surveys are pointing to a potential victory of the ruling NDA, though the ultimate decision will be made as regional considerations and late voter turnout decide the fate of the result.
According to political analysts, employment, migration, education, and infrastructural development are some of the major issues that have determined the feelings of voters in the current election. Not only will the result in the selection of the next Chief Minister of Bihar, but it may also affect the political forces in the country before the state elections in 2026 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2029.
With Bihar awaiting its judgment, everyone is on the updated version of the Election Commission tomorrow, when the decision of the people on which government is to be elected in the state will be known finally.
