The Gujarat government has given the developmental works of value 28.68 crores that will help in restoring various tourism and pilgrimage sites in the state. This move was a major move in enhancing infrastructure and visitor facilities in major religious and tourism sites, as it was cleared by Harsh Sanghavi.

The program, according to the officials, is part of the wider agenda of the state government in supporting Gujarat as one of the most favoured spiritual and cultural tourism sites in India. The money will be utilized in infrastructural upgrades, beautification, and enhancement of basic infrastructure in major pilgrimage and tourist sites.

There are also a number of religious sites that are very famous in Gujarat, which receive millions of religious visitors annually. They include the well-known Somnath Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and the old Dwarkadhish Temple, which is attributed to Lord Krishna. The other notable pilgrimage sites in the state are Ambaji Temple and the sacred Girnar Temple Complex that receive thousands of pilgrims annually.

The new works that will be sanctioned would be aimed at enhancing infrastructure like access roads, parking facilities, lighting facilities and other sanitation facilities within these sites. The plan is also comprised of beautification, such as landscaping and restoring the surroundings. The authorities believe that these developments will lead to a better pilgrim and tourist experience, as well as better management of the increasing number of visitors.

Powers assumes that the further development of tourism infrastructure will not only be advantageous to the visitors but also offer increased stimulus to the local economy. Tourism is very crucial in providing jobs and sustaining industries like hotels, restaurants, transport industries, and local markets of the handicraft industry.

The state government has actively been marketing Gujarat as a place that offers both religious heritages and cultural traditions, as well as natural attraction sites. Having better structures and infrastructure, the officials are optimistic that there will be an increased number of domestic and international tourists visiting the spiritual and historical sites of the state.

The works approved should be implemented very soon and will, in all probability, be done in phases so that the quality and efficiency are maintained. After this has been done, the project will go a long way in making access to and the attractiveness of some of the major tourist and pilgrimage centres in Gujarat.

This project will help the government to maintain the cultural value of these sacred places and make them more accessible and friendly to the visitors, which is the value of Gujarat as a prime location of religious and heritage tourism in India.
