A Qatar Airways aircraft that had been on its way to Hong Kong via Doha had an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon after it faced a technical issue in the air. The plane was flight QR 816 that was on its way to Ahmedabad when the pilot reported that the cabin pressure had abruptly dropped. This led the crew to declare a full-fledged emergency, after which the air traffic control provided a full landing clearance, and emergency airport services became active.
The plane that was flying over the Indian airspace had earlier taken off from Doha on the day when the issue was identified. One of the most dangerous in-flight problems is the cabin pressure loss, which may result in a sudden loss of oxygen levels. The pilots reacted quickly, and they undertook emergency steps and landed the plane safely at Ahmedabad.
