The Patna Metro will also have its last trial today, the 29th of September 2025, and it is significant in the development of the city in terms of the formation of public transport. The testing, which was done by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), is an important step toward the official launch of the metro system, with all the operational and safety requirements being satisfied.

The CMRS, Janak Kumar Garg, will be the final inspector and will evaluate the technical capability of the metro, such as the strength of the tracks, the signalling system, braking performance, and the overall speed. The trains should run at a speed of about 40 km/h during the trial, but the authorities should be able to test the safety features and efficiency of operation. The previous experiments on an 800-meter track located within the depot and a 3.6 km elevated linkage between ISBT and Bhutnath stations have given useful information, and modifications have been made accordingly to facilitate operations.

The blue line of the Patna Metro, the priority corridor, covers a distance of 6.49 km and features five elevated stations, Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak, Bhutnath, Zero Mile and New ISBT. The stations are fitted with contemporary facilities like lift services, escalators, self-service ticket machines, and food court services to make the services more user-friendly to the passengers. They can carry up to 900 passengers each with a 360-degree surveillance camera and an emergency red button that links the passengers to the driver directly.

As the Patna Metro awaits successful clearance by CMRS, the Metro may officially start its operations in the first week of October 2025. The developers have high hopes that the metro will greatly enhance transportation in urban areas, and provide an alternative to road transportation, which is both fast, safe and eco-friendly.

With the emergence of the metro, the traffic congestion problem is set to decrease, the level of pollution will decrease, and the commuting reliability of the day-to-day passengers will improve. Patna residents have welcomed it with enthusiasm, considering the metro as a revolutionary change toward modernization in the transport system of Patna.

Since the last trial is scheduled today, the system will be thoroughly examined by the officials, and all the safety and functionality parameters should be satisfied before the system is launched to the populace. The successful trial implementation is seen to be the dawn of a new era in the urban transport of Patna, which is likely to be able to offer a smoother, safer and more sustainable mode of transport to the commuters of this city.
