PM Modi to Hoist Special Ahmedabad-Made Flag at Ram Temple

When Ayodhya is about to host one of the most historic and expected religious ceremonies in recent times, a special handcrafted flag will be produced at Ahmedabad, which is expected to be the heart of the whole program. The 22-foot-long ceremonial flag will be hoisted by PM Narendra Modi on top of the peak of the Ram Temple, as a part of the ceremony of consecration and will become a historic moment of national and cultural importance.

A team of 10 very skilled artisans has been working in Ahmedabad to prepare the grand flag, and it took them 25 days of uninterrupted effort to finish the holy banner. The flag is not merely a decorative object but a very spiritual work that was created according to the old traditions of Hinduism and a temple building.

The thing that is really remarkable about the flag is the symbolism within its design. The banner contains three strong divine items, namely, Kalpavriksha, the Sun, and the holy Om.

  • Kalpavriksha, or the divine wish-fulfilling tree, is synonymous with blessings, luck and the fulfilment of spiritual desires.
  • In Sanatan philosophy, the Sun represents energy, light, life force and the source of enlightenment, which is immortal.
  • Om, the first sound of the universe, is a manifestation of supreme awareness, Godly birth, and spiritual living.

The flag is made of traditional fabrics, heavy embroidery and lasting materials to withstand the effects of nature as soon as it is mounted on the temple shikhar, which is menacingly high. Artisans working on the project were extremely proud of it and referred to the creation as a spiritual privilege and historic honour. Some said that the best work they could do in their lives was to give something to the Ram Temple, a dream they were all fond of.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag during the consecration ceremony, which will be held with Vedic rituals, chants and offerings in the presence of saints, religious leaders and thousands of devotees. This is projected to be seen by millions of people in the country and globally on the live broadcasts.

In the case of Ayodhya, the opening of the Ram Temple is an event of emotions, which symbolizes cultural restoration, piety, and a journey that has taken centuries. The flag is a special Ahmedabad-made flag which brings an element of craftsmanship, tradition and artistry in the momentous day.

When set up, the flag is supposed to be a permanent emblem of religion, heritage, and Godly blessings, to be envied by the myriad of believers who will flock to the mega temple in the years to come.
