Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami greeting and welcoming PM Modi with offering a shawl.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Uttarakhand on November 9, 2025, to participate in the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the state, which was formed in 2000. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will issue a special postage stamp to mark the Silver Jubilee year of the state and place the foundation stone of some of the major development projects to improve infrastructure, tourism, and connections in the region.

Uttarakhand, which is marking its 25th anniversary in 2015 with a new vision of development, is the result of Uttar Pradesh, which was split into Uttarakhand in 2000, with a new vision of becoming a model of sustainable development within the next 20 years under the concept of Viksit Uttarakhand @2047. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared that the visit of the Prime Minister would not only mark the history of the achievements of the state, but it would also prepare the new epoch of the state’s development.

The visit is going to be marked with the unveiling of a special Silver Jubilee postage stamp by the Prime Minister and which will represent the cultural, spiritual and natural heritage of Uttarakhand. The stamp is likely to contain classic components that define the identity of the state, such as the Himalayan ranges, rivers, holy temples and biodiversity.

Besides the ritual release, the Prime Minister will also lay a foundation stone in several developmental projects in different districts. Although certain details of the project are expected, the authorities have pointed out that they involve projects concerning the road infrastructure, tourism facilities, rural development, as well as conservation of the environment. Those projects are supposed to empower local economies and create new jobs, and enhance connectivity in the hill regions.

Chief Minister Dhami said that Uttarakhand has experienced unprecedented growth over the last ten years as a result of the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, which has focused on Chardham road projects, all-weather connectivity, as well as hydropower development. He added that the Silver Jubilee festivities would be a showcase of the state’s development, coupled with its efforts to ensure that development is balanced and does not harm the delicate Himalayan ecology.

The event will be hosted in Dehradun, and cultural shows, exhibitions, and involvement of the public will be held by all people in the state. The occasion is being marked by decorations of government offices and public places, and in all the districts, special programs are scheduled.

The Silver Jubilee anniversary and the visit of the Prime Minister represent a proud moment in the life of Uttarakhand – a recognition of the 25 years of the long path that the state has travelled and a plan for an even bigger future.
