Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resumed his current Samriddhi Yatra tour on Thursday, going to the main areas of Nalanda and Patna district to inspect development projects and meet people. The yatra, which is in its fifth stage, is out to provide a show of the development of the state government and reliance on the grassroots.

Nitish Kumar also observed various infrastructure and welfare projects during his visit to Nalanda, his home district. The officials kept him informed on the progress of current plans, such as road building, rural development plans and systems of delivering services to the population. The Chief Minister also conducted review meetings with district authorities to help them to implement projects in good time.

The focus of his government on inclusive growth, better connectivity, and social welfare programs in his address to the public gatherings was emphasized by Nitish Kumar. He pointed out that the yatra is not solely aimed at opening up projects but also to determine realities on the ground and areas of developmental deficiency. He encouraged leaders to be answerable and attentive to the issues of citizens.

The Chief Minister travelled later in the day to Patna, where he proceeded with his outreach by meeting the citizens and stakeholders. A number of new projects were either launched or declared that would increase urban infrastructure and improve the services offered to people in the state capital.

The Samriddhi Yatra has been travelling to various districts of the state of Bihar, and this has concentrated on both rural and urban areas. By doing so, the government aims to be in direct touch with the people, get feedback and speed up the development process. The yatra is also used to showcase the progress in areas like education, healthcare, roads and electricity.

In both Nalanda and Patna, security was stepped up over the visit of the Chief Minister, and masses of people were present to hear the public meetings. There were varied expectations and feedback from the local residents towards the development works going on.

According to political observers, such statewide tours have a significant role in governance since they will fill the gap between the administration and the people. Several districts will be incorporated within the Samriddhi Yatra as it moves forward, which will strengthen the focus on the government to engage in development-oriented activities in Bihar.

As more attention is paid to decisions on monitoring projects and communication with the citizens, the yatra of Nitish Kumar becomes one of the central projects to measure the success and make sure that the development involves the grassroots level.
