It is likely that weather conditions in Jharkhand would change within the next few days as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorms, and lightning in various regions of the state during the period of March 7 to March 9. It is predicted that following a stretch of generally dry and warm weather, numerous districts can have clouds, light, and moderate rainfall, and thunder activity.

As it was reported by weather officials, there is a developing weather system in the eastern part of India, which will probably impact atmospheric conditions in Jharkhand during this time. Consequently, the moisture content in the air can rise, resulting in the formation of clouds and unpredictable weather conditions. This alteration will bring about brief periods of rain and thunderstorms in other regions of the state.

Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and others with several districts around them may experience sporadic rainfall, gusty winds and lightning. Thunderstorms have been recommended by the meteorologists to be careful to the residents because lightning strikes and abrupt winds are a danger, especially in open spaces and rural communities.

The weather prediction indicates that the weather will start changing on March 7, as the clouds will most probably cover the whole state, and some isolated regions might have light rainfall. The weather activity may worsen on March 8, and there is a greater likelihood of the presence of rain and thunderstorms in more districts. Thunderstorms would also bring lightning and strong winds to various areas by March 9.

Such a weather change could also cause a transitory decrease in the day temperatures in Jharkhand. Within the last few days, the temperatures in most regions have been slowly increasing as the region starts to change from winter to the beginning of summer. But it is expected that the rainfall and cloud cover would be a temporary relief to the rising heat.

According to weather experts, this kind of pre-summer thunderstorms is not an exception in eastern India in the month of March. These storms usually occur as a result of hot air in the lower areas of the surface interacting with colder winds in the upper areas. The rain is normally brief, but in other cases, it may be heavy and accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The IMD has advised the population to be informed about the local weather forecasts and be cautious in case of thunderstorms. Farmers, commuters, and persons working out in the open are especially encouraged to be more vigilant during this season.

Through the anticipated rain and thunderstorms, residents of Jharkhand might encounter a short-term change in the weather conditions, and later on, the weather would start to pick up towards the end of the month.
