The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a weather alert for Jharkhand, which predicts the presence of rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and lightning in the state between March 18 and March 20. The advisory encourages the residents to be vigilant because fluctuating weather conditions can affect the normal lives of a number of districts.

The IMD officials revealed that a developing weather system in the eastern part of India, coupled with the infiltration of moisture in the Bay of Bengal, would be the cause of volatile weather conditions. This would lead to light to moderate rains in most areas of the state, with isolated cases of such high gusts of up to 30 and 50 km/h.

Such districts as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Hazaribagh should experience intermittent precipitation and thunderstorms in the next three days. Even lightning strikes, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours, have been warned about by meteorologists, and this may be dangerous to outdoor workers.

This has been classified under the IMD as a precautionary warning, and it is necessary to sensitize the people and not to panic. The unpredictable weather, such as brief but heavy rain, can cause temporary inconvenience in traffic and local commuting. It has also been suggested that farmers should take the required precautions to avoid damage to standing crops by strong winds and lightning.

The government has also encouraged people not to use open areas during thunderstorms or seek shelter under trees during lightning. Citizens are also encouraged to stow away loose things that can be carried away by strong winds, as well as keep up with official weather bulletins.

In the meantime, day temperatures are likely to be a little lower in Jharkhand as a result of the presence of cloud cover and precipitation. Nevertheless, the rates of humidity are not likely to decrease, and the weather conditions may be quite variable.

This spell of thunder and rain is part of a larger trend in the weather patterns ahead of the summer that are typical in eastern India in the month of March. Weather forecasters indicate that this is not an unusual weather at this time of the year, but still needs some precaution since there are high chances of an explosion and strong winds.

The IMD is keeping an attentive look on the situation and will provide additional updates in case of the aggravation of the situation. It is recommended that residents adhere to official recommendations and be cautious at this time of unpredictable weather.
