On Thursday, the 68th anniversary of the martyrdom of tribal freedom fighter Sobaran Soren was observed with extreme respect and people’s participation in Ramgarh. It was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who gave a touching tribute to the former leader and promised the people of Jharkhand that his government would support rural-based development and long-term prosperity.
Speaking at the meeting, Hemant Soren remembered the great works of Sobaran Soren, who was a courageous, self-sacrificing, and tribal proud man. He claimed that the principles on which such leaders as Sobaran Soren sacrificed their lives remain in use to govern the state. He continued to say that we should never forget the plight of our tribal heroes who defended our dignity, justice and the rights of their fellow tribesmen.
The Chief Minister, in his address, emphasized that the government had a renewed interest in the ground-level governance, and that the government will have a philosophy grounded in the upliftment of the rural. He said that our government would be village-based and that the development should start at the last mile since it is only there that real change will be introduced in the lives of the tribal and marginalized communities of Jharkhand.
Another roadmap that is going to transform Jharkhand into a prosperous state was also outlined by Hemant Soren, which was to be achieved by the year 2050. He pointed out that the vision covers enhancing rural infrastructural facilities, enhancing access to education and health, sustainable exploitation of the natural resources, and the development of new livelihoods. He observed that the government is also bent on ensuring that economic growth permeates all households, including the remote tribal ones.
The Chief Minister also stated that the state will empower young women by providing them with specific welfare programs and skill development opportunities. As long as we desire Jharkhand to prosper, then we have to invest in our human resources. He got up and said, By 2050, Jharkhand would be one of the most developed and self-reliant states in India.
The cultural activities included cultural performances, short floral offerings, and attendance of local leaders, villagers, and other groups in the society. People recalled the sacrifices of Sobaran Soren in the atmosphere of pride and hoped to have a brighter future.
The anniversary celebration was not only a tribute to a sacred tribal martyr but also a vision of the state government of inclusive development, empowerment of rural areas and a successful Jharkhand on the basis of the ideals of legendary leaders.
