A high-level cabinet meeting that was conducted at the secretariat of the Jharkhand government has endorsed 13 major proposals by the government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The choices cut across the key industries such as irrigation, infrastructure, welfare and sports, which reveal the continued attention of the government toward the inclusive development and identification of the local talent.
The ₹236.20 crore Cambo Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme, which has been given one of the biggest approvals, is meant to supply underground pipeline-based irrigation in sections of Mandar and Chanho blocks of Ranchi district. The project is set to enhance agricultural productivity since there will be a water supply to drought-prone regions and an enhancement of the livelihood of the local farmers.
They were also approved by the cabinet using the ₹7.84 crore of the state contingency fund to hold the by-election in the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly constituency. Moreover, Bell-429 twin-engine helicopter service, which is used in the VIP and VVIP movement, has been renewed for another six months under the prevailing conditions.
The government has made a decision that has received much appreciation when it exempted stamp duty and registration fee on land offered by the Jharkhand State Housing Board to international hockey players Salima Tete and Nikki Pradhan. The two Jharkandi Olympians have made the state and the nation proud, and this ruling is a symbolic gesture of rewards and support to sporting genius.
The cabinet also sanctioned the creation of the Jharkhand State Allied and Healthcare Council Rules, 2025, that is going to govern the professionals in the allied and healthcare field, granting them higher service delivery and professional responsibility.
The development of infrastructures was boosted by the expansion and reinforcement of important roads in the Dumka district, which had a cost of ₹44.93 crore and ₹35.81 crore under the two projects, respectively. It also reformulated the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana, raising the amount of money given to the beneficiaries to 2 lakh, with a new housing target of 2025-26.
The cabinet also gave the go-ahead to pension amendments regarding retired government engineering college and polytechnic teachers who retired prior to January 1, 2016, and grade pay amendments regarding grade Welfare Supervisors.
All the decisions made during the meeting are focused on the strengthening of the infrastructure of the state, supporting the poor communities, and promoting excellent results in sports and public service. These programs are emphasized by the vision of the government on holistic development and welfare-oriented governance in Jharkhand.
