The Bihar Police Exhibition had an impressive and colourful opening in the Sonepur Fair held every year, where the Director General of Police (DGP) opened the fair. The event that attracted huge numbers of people during its opening day is part of demonstrating the increased technological capacities of the state police, the use of modern equipment and the changing patterns in addressing the emerging problems like cybercrime and criminal networks.

At the inauguration, the DGP stressed that the police force will have a greater responsibility following the high electoral mandate of the government. The majority comes with a lot of responsibility, and he said that the police must now be more dedicated, transparent and accountable for the work they do. He once again confirmed the commitment of the force to uphold law and order at all times, without eliminating the aspect of public trust and cooperation as the focus of policing.

The dog squad demonstration was one of the largest exhibitions at the exhibition, featuring trained police dogs demonstrating sophisticated tracking and crime detection abilities, including a theatrical fire-ring leap that mesmerized the viewers. The presence of stalls by special departments like the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Cyber Crime Unit, Forensic Science Laboratory, CID, and the Women Safety and Helpline Desk provided individuals with a better understanding of the way modern policing operates.

The authorities described the purpose of the show to raise awareness among society as to crime prevention strategies, reporting procedures and the relevance of community involvement. As the cases of cybercrime are on the rise throughout Bihar, the booth on cybercriminals at the Cyber Cell attracted great attention, providing demonstrations of online safety, the prevention of digital frauds, and the latest means and methods of tracking down the terrorists of the Internet.

DGP also mentioned the issue of policing integrity, stating that the department had pledged to a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. He told citizens that he would take a hard crackdown on not only the criminals but also against any police officers who would be found guilty of misconduct. The force should be in the van of the game, he said.

Students, families, and local residents who came to see the exhibition also valued the program since they felt that this type of exhibition helps in closing the divide between the police and the community. It was observed by many that the experience of seeing and touching real equipment, meeting officers, and getting familiarized with methods of crime-fighting was an eye-opener to policing.

Bihar Police Exhibition within the Sonepur Fair will last throughout, and demonstrations, awareness and interactive programs will also take place to enhance the bond between the community and the police. By undertaking this, the state intends to bring a better-informed, empowered and cooperative citizenry into the fight against terrorism in an attempt to keep things safe and secure.
