To make its Group C recruitment examinations transparent and fair, the government of Uttarakhand has declared a significant change in the way the exams are carried out. Henceforth, telecasting of all Group C examinations will be done live in the state, and authorities will be able to keep a check on the turn of events. This court ruling is one of the meticulously crafted master plans that the government and the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) have devised to weed out the malpractices like cheating, impersonation and leak of papers that have hitherto plagued the recruitment process.

All the examination centres will now be equipped with CCTV cameras to give live streaming with the footage sent to a central monitoring control room. These feeds will be monitored by senior officials in order to make sure that the examination process is open and pursued in accordance with the prescribed guidelines. This live telecast system will likely prevent any irregularity and will make more job seekers more confident, who have long sought a decent recruitment system.

To enhance security further, the government has unveiled another rule that states that verification at the examination gate is mandatory to ensure that one attends. Applicants will be required to check in by taking biometric checks and clear their names by marking attendance prior to getting access to the exam hall. This has been done to ensure that proxy candidates are not allowed to enter the scene, a vice which has previously made the recruitment tests highly questionable.

These security measures are coupled with a detailed master plan that has been prepared to see to it that the exams are carried out in a smooth and fair manner. All these procedures involved in the examination process, such as printing and transportation of the question papers, distribution and storage of the tests, will be done with a lot of supervision. Flight squads, magistrates and district officials will be stationed throughout the centres to check conformity and act instantly in case of any suspicious activity.

The Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has made it clear that the government will ensure that recruitment exams are carried out on a merit basis. According to him, these new measures portray the will of the administration to restore the lost faith of the people in the examination system as well as to offer equal opportunities to every deserving candidate. The step has been well received by students and aspirants throughout the state, as they feel that the step will ultimately make the recruitment process in Uttarakhand credible and fair.
