Police officer beats up a dalit woman at police station |

| Lucknow: In yet another case of persecution and inhuman treatment to the lower section of the society Uttar Pradesh police in Sultanpur district thrashed a Dalit woman who is suspected to have murdered her husband.
In a bid to extract a confession from the woman a police officer beat her up in the police station. After this incident, the officer, who is an SHO, has been suspended from his service.
The journalist, who was present there during the incident claimed that claims he was not in a position to prevent the the police from beating up the 26-year-old woman.
Earlier, police had alleged that the woman had murdered her husband. His body was recovered from their house on Tuesday. |
