| Lucknow: A 30-year-old Austrian tourist was attacked, robbed and left unconscious near a rail track in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district, police said today.
Mario Max was found on Sunday evening in Auragabad locality, some 300 km from here. He has been moved to a hospital.
"It appears some miscreants attacked Mario with sharp-edged weapons and made away with his valuables," police inspector Somveer Singh said.
Mario, a devotee of Lord Krishna, reportedly reached Mathura a few days ago and took up a room at a lodge in Aurangabad. Police have detained some workers of the lodge. (IANS) |
