| Ganganagar: Police community of Rajasthan's Ganganagar district has acquired a new role - the role of corpse traders. Going by the recent reports, more than 20 dead bodies have been sold by the policemen of this district.
Officials at three police stations in Ganganagar district are under scanner for having sold these unidentified corpses to private medical colleges within a span of five years.
Government has ordered an investigation into the matter after it came to light when a family of a deceased person gathered inputs under the Right to Information Act.
In one of the shocking cases of ruthlessness, Ganganagar Police treated the body of an 18 year old boy (Rahul Soni) as unidentified though his name was written on his hand. Later, his body was handed over to a private medical college, without putting any effort to identify him.
Apparently, police claimed that they had cremated the body but repeated pestering of his family members made them confess that they had sold his body to Tantiya Medical College.
Rajasthan Home Minister Shanti Dhariwal assured investigation on the matter after this issue rocked Rajasthan Assembly on Monday. |
