Train derails in Mumbai, two injured |

| Mumbai: Two commuters were injured when five coaches of a suburban train derailed today morning at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, officials said.
This is the fourth incident of its kind in the Central Railway (CR) zone.
" Five coaches of the CST-Kasara local train which was on the verge of moving out of platform number 6 derailed around 7 a.m. today (Friday)," a CR spokesman said.
"We are investigating the causes of the derailment. On account of the accident, platforms 5 and 6 have been temporarily closed to carry out relief work. Suburban train services will be delayed by around 20 minutes," he told the media.
On Nov 11, eight coaches of the Mysore-Ajmer Express derailed at Jejuri near Pune, injuring six people.
That same evening, five coaches of a Karjat-bound suburban train derailed on platform number 6, but nobody was injured.
Eleven coaches of the Gandhidham-Bengaluru Express derailed near Bhiwandi in Thane district Nov 5, leaving four passengers injured.
On Oct 27, a water pipeline bridge collapsed on a local train in Thane killing three, including the driver of the train. (IANS) |
