Mumbai: It was only on Wednesday when Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray received death threats from a 'Bihari' organization for his alleged anti-Bihari stance. Today, the Maharashtra government decided to provide him with 'Y' security cover.

While talking to the reporters, Thackeray's lawyer Shayaji Nagare stated that Raj had received a letter from a Bihari organization, which contained death threat. The lawyer added that the letter clearly stated that one of their members would kill him as they hold hm responsible for dividing the nation.

The letter was signed by one Ashok Kumar Singh, who called himself the president of the organisation.

The lawyer further added that complaint was lodged at the Shivaji Park police station immediately after the death threat was received. Following the complaint, Maharashtra government decided to give Thackeray 'Y' security, which means, he will now be protected by two carbine-wielding cops.
