| Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari will meet Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Saturday on his first visit to Mumbai after taking over his new charge, a party official said today.
He will call on Thackeray at the latter's residence, the official said.
Soon after his arrival here, Gadkari will garland the statue of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai.
Then, he will visit Chaityabhoomi, the memorial dedicated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Veer Savarkar memorial, both at Shivaji Park.
Later, he will go for a 'darshan' at the famed Siddhivinayak Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh at Prabhadevi.
In the afternoon, Gadkari is scheduled to meet top state and city party office-bearers at the BJP state headquarters at Nariman Point.
During his engagements in the city, Gadkari shall be accompanied by BJP's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, Gopinath Munde. (IANS) |
