| Chandigarh, Aug 17: To mark the festival of 'Raksha Bandhan' when women tie a colourful thread on the wrist of their brothers as a symbol of bond of love, the Haryana government today announced that all women in the state will be allowed to travel free in state transport buses.
A state transport department spokesman said the free travel facility will be available to women in all Haryana Roadways buses on 'Raksha Bandhan' day, falling on Aug 24, to go visiting their brothers.
The spokesman said women, along with their children below 15 years, could travel free in the ordinary buses of Haryana Roadways. (IANS) |
