| New Delhi: Dying on railway tracks has almost become a common phenomenon in contemporary times and the latest instance is more than shocking. Two trains ran over a man in New Delhi and that too in quick succession as his dead body remained as it is on the tracks.
This incident has raised question mark over the operational efficiency of the railways as the second train was allowed to enter the line even after the man's dead body lay on the tracks. It is still not known that how did the railway ministry order the entry of the second train.
Mahesh Kumar, a railways employee aged 50, was run over by a train at the Old Delhi station on Thursday morning and within a span of ten minutes another train ran over him. Moreover, his body was not removed from the place even after an hour it remained unattended.
Senior railway public relations official Anant Swaroop informed the media that the body of the man was was discovered on the tracks at the station and added that the police are probing into the matter. There have been reports that Mr Kumar had been depressed of late.
According to some other reports, the body of the railway employee was not removed due to differences between the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). |
