| New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to explain how a pig shelter is operating in the green belt area in east Delhi.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Madan B.Lokur and Justice Mukta Gupta asked the DDA to file a detailed affidavit, by April 14, and also asked the civic agency to explore possibilities of relocating the pigs from the Trilokpuri area.
The court was hearing a public interest petition filed by Uttar Pradesh Bihar Nagrik Parishad, which complained that the pig shelter caused a nuisance and meant unhygienic conditions in the residential area. (IANS) |
