Cloudy sky makes mercury soar in capital

New Delhi: A cloud cover since early today made the minimum temperature rise by as much as six degrees above average, making way for a warm day ahead.

An India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said: "The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 16.5 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees above average for this time of the year."

However, there is no rain predicted for the day.

"The maximum temperature will hover around 27 degrees Celsius," the official added. (IANS)
