New Delhi: Sixteen young boys ran away from a shelter in the national capital during Holi celebrations on Monday. Police today said that five of them had been traced and brought back to the juvenile home.

The incident was reported on Monday by the shelter home located in Jahangirpuri in north-west Delhi. The home is run by Prayas, an NGO founded by former IPS officer Amod Kanth.

"Five of the young boys who ran away were located and brought back to the shelter," police said today.

According to the shelter's staff, the boys left during a music programme organised for Monday's Holi celebrations. The runaway boys were earlier rescued by the NGO Prayas from traffickers and child-labour industry.

The police have registered a missing persons complaint at the Jahangirpuri police station and along with the home are trying to track down the remaining runaway boys. (IANS)
