| London, June 27: India's Sania Mirza bowed out of the women's doubles and Mahesh Bhupathi from the mixed doubles events in the second round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
Sania, partnering Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, went down 6-7(0), 3-6 to 11th seeded Cara Black of Zimbabwe and Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia on Saturday. Sania is already out of the singles, losing in the first round.
Third-seeded Bhupathi and American Liezel Huber suffered a shock 2-6, 6-3, 3-6 defeat at the hands of unseeded Russians Dmitry Tursunov and Vera Dushevina.
Bhupathi, however, is still alive in the men's doubles with Max Mirnyi of Belarus and they play Swede Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau of Romania in the third round. (IANS) |
