Afro-Aussie Diamondstar to be on trial for Mohun Bagan |

| Kolkata, Aug 14: Soccer giants Mohun Bagan are bringing in an Afro-Aussie central defender Okwy Okonkwo Diamondstar for trials, club general secretary Anjan Mitra said here today.
Mitra said Okwy, an Africa-born Australian citizen, will arrive in the city on Monday and leave for Siliguri in north Bengal to join the rest of the team in the ongoing residential camp.
He now plays for an Australian football club Western Knights Soccer Club, which is now second in the Football West State League Premier Division in Perth, Western Australia. If selected, Okwy will be the fourth foreigner in the Mohun Bagan Squad for the 2010-2011 football season.
Earlier Okwy was playing for Persis Solo, an Indonesian football team based in Solo (Surakarta), Central Java, which plays in the countrys Premier Division at the Central Region. (IANS) |
