New Delhi: India A registered a brilliant three wicket victory over Australia A in the last league match of the tri-series at the M Chidambaram stadium in Chennai today. Batting first, Australia A set a target of 273 runs for the host in the limited fifty over, which, the home team achieved losing seven wickets and four overs in spare. For Australia A David Hussey scored a brilliant 74 runs before being bowled out by Yusuf Pathan. What caught the attention of the Australian inning was the seventh wicket partnership between Philip Hughes and Ashley Noffke. The duo added 57 runs on the bard and remained unbeaten till the end. Hughes score 49, while Noffke made a valuable 33 runs.
In reply to the huge target set by Austraila A, the host didn't had a good start as they lost Robin Uthappa quite early. But some commendable knock from Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Yususf Pathan helped India A to chase the target quite comfortably. Rohit Sharma scored 51 before getting run out, bu Raina missed his half century by four runs. Both the teams will now clash with each other in the final on Friday. |
