| New Delhi: India's Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh is now the top ranked boxer in the middle-weight (75-kg) category.
Vijender, who earlier this month became the first Indian boxer to win a medal, a bronze, in the World Championship, has 2700 points. Cuba's Emilio Correa Bayeux with 2500 points is at the second place.
The World and Asian middle-weight champion Uzbekistan's Abbos Atoev with 2100 points is third in the world rankings.
Also among the top-ranked boxers are new world champions such as McWilliams Arroyo (51kg) of Puerto Rico, Detelin Dalakliev (54kg) of Bulgaria, Italy's Domenico Valentino (60kg), Germany's Jack Robert Culcay-Keth (69kg) and Russia's Artur Beterbiev (81kg). (IANS) |
