| Chennai, June 9: As expected, it were the Indian Railways who hogged the limelight in the third Indian Grand Prix athletics here today, winning three of the six events.
The results:
Men: 200M: 1. Manikanda Raj (Jhark) 21.69 secs; 2. S Srinivas (AP) 22.14; 3. Jai Prakash Shetty (Kar) 22.35. 400M Hurdles: 1. Joseph Abraham (Rlys) 50.24; 2 Satinder Singh (Rlys) 51.07; 3. Avin A Thomas (Rlys) 51.32. Pole Vault: 1. Gajanan Upadhaya (Rlys) 4.90M; 2. Vadivel (Rlys) 4.75; Bineesh Jacob (Rlys) 4.65. Javelin Throw: 1 Kasinath (Ser) 75.23M; 2 Samarjeet Singh (ONGC) 73.30; 3 Vipin Panwar (UP) 70.22.
Women: 200M: 1. CH Shanti (AP) 24.57secs; 2 C.Shilpa (Ker) 24.86; 3 Nirupama Sunderrajan (Kar) 24.90. Long Jump: 1 Reshmi Bose (Rlys) 6.32M; 2 MA Prajusha (Rlys) 6.23; 3 Mayookhi Johny (ONGC) 6.18. (IANS) |
