| New Delhi: Another anecdote which embraced the spotlight cites the reason as to why Indian sports are lagging far behind the rest of the world.
Recently, India's golden girl PT Usha, who had come for 49th National Open Athletics Championship in Bhopal, was rejected a better accommodation to stay despite her repeated pleas.
The former track queen was not pleased with the lodging offered to her by the organisers. When she asked for a better accommodation, she was directly declined by the Championship organisers.
Following this rude treatment, PT Usha could not stop herself from bursting into tears in front of the media. She criticized the sports authority officers and charged them for their disregard towards Indian sportspersons.
She appeared depressed and was not happy with the cold treatment. She warned the officials that this apathetic behavior towards the sportspersons might act as a hindrance towards the development of sports and sportsmanship in India. |
