Malegaon cow slaughter: Five adjournments in Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai, July 22: The cow slaughter issue in Malegaon created uproar in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today. The opposition was seen threatening to disrupt the proceedings of the House till the accused was held.

There were reportedly five adjournments after the Question Hour. The matter was first raised by Shiv Sena legislator Dada Bhuse from Malegaon when the assembly met for the day.

Besides informing about the discovery of bodies of the cows in different parts of Malegaon city on Wednesday night, the legislator also added that a shutdown was observed in Malegaon in order to protest against the cow slaughter.

On this issue, Home Minister R R Patil pointed out that bodies of eight cows were recovered from three different places in the region. The Home Minister also added that police have formed two teams to arrest the accused. Post-mortem report is awaited.
