Himalaya Optical and Amrit Fresh celebrate Children's Day at BASHA |

Kolkata: Children's Day got a new meaning when BASHA, a home for underprivileged children celebrated this special occasion today in association with Himalaya Optical, a leading optical retail chain in Eastern Region and Amrit Fresh, one of the leading milk producers based out of Kolkata. The occasion was graced by popular figures in the entertainment industry like Locket Chatterjee, Arunima Ghosh and also he members of Bangla Rock Band Lakkhichara.
Mr Sudarshan Binani MD of Himalaya Optical and Mr Giriraj Lakhotia, Vice President of Amrit Group of Companies were also present on the occasion.
The celebration started off with a sit and draw competition with musical chair following the event. Mr Binani ceased the opportunity to distribute the spectacles to those underprivileged children. Earlier this week, Himalaya Optical had conducted free eye testing of these little ones.
Mr Bagla handed out milk pouches to these children with a promise to provide free milk to the children throughout the week. Amrit Fresh and Himalaya Optical also distributed gifts to the toddlers. Locket and Arunima were seen mingling with these gifted children and enjoying their juvenile display. They also blessed these youngsters a promising life ahead.
Debaditya, one of the members of Lakkhichara, expressed his satisfaction for being able to be a part of this initiative. He admits that the innocence of these unprivileged children and the vivacity he finds within them are more than a temptation for him to return back to them again and again. His co-member of the band Subhojit, almost reprised the former's thought with a hope that these innocent souls remain untainted as they are now
According to the founder and initiator of BASHA, children of the home mainly hail from the slum areas of Keyatala, Kankulia, Panchanantala and Ballygunje Station Road.
While talking to the media, Mr Binani expressed his gratitude to BASHA for giving opportunity to bring a smile to these underprivileged children. He further added that Himalaya Optical has always been willing to do its bit for the wellbeing of the children of this organization. He also affirmed that his organization has every intention to remain associated with them in the long run.
Mr Giriraj Lakhotia, VP, Amrit Fresh was also excited about this event. Stating that Amrit Fresh has always kept itself involved in charitable events, Mr Lakhotia asserted that his organization is happy to be associated with BASHA. Harping on the fact that children are the future of our society, he added that it is our duty to take proper care of them.
