Future prospects
There is an increasing demand for transport facilities in Eastern India. Several mineral industries, steel plants, chemical plants and fertilizer plants would become operational in that part of the country. Expansion plans have been created to cover ports like Gopalpur, Visakhapatnam and Paradeep.
The annual passenger count, the number of loadings and the revenues generated by East Coast Railway are likely to witness a sharp rise in future years.
