Bhopal: When the whole nation is witnessing an unexpected row between Indian political parties over regions and their people Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar today expressed her opinion in this regard. She asserted that the ideal way to put an end to regional rhetoric is to stop making comments over it.

When Kumar was repeatedly requested to comment over the 'Marathi Manoos' campaign by the Shiv Sena and MNS activists in Mumbai, she suggested this as the best way to come out of this row.

The speaker, however, added that Indians have the right to reside anywhere in the country.

While inaugurating the 74th conference of presiding officers of legislative bodies from across India Meira Kumar affirmed that every Indian is a patriot.

She did not make any comment on whether political parties like Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena should be banned. She refused to give nay answer on the fate of MP Jaya Prada in Parliament. Jaya Prada was expelled from Samajwadi Party on Tuesday.
