| New Delhi: The central government has sought the West Bengal government's report after Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that her Trinamool Congress party's workers were being targeted in the state, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said today.
"She has complained that her cadre was at the receiving end. In some cases, we have asked for a report from the state government," Chidambaram told reporters in his monthly press briefing here.
"We have made it clear that it is the duty of the state government to maintain law and order and that includes putting an end to the inter-party clashes," he added. (IANS) |
