Bhopal: The activists of the Shiv Sena today burnt posters of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in this Madhya Pradesh capital to protest his remarks on exclusion of Pakistani cricket players from the Indian Premier League-3 (IPL-3).

The activists held a demonstration at the busy Roshanpura Square and said his upcoming movie "My Name is Khan" would not be allowed to be screened in Madhya Pradesh.

The Shiv Sena hit out at Shah Rukh, who is also the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, after he said he would have picked a Pakistani player for the IPL matches if his team had a slot.

IPL franchise owners did not bid for Pakistani players during the auction for the IPL-3, which has snowballed into a major spat between the two countries.

Sena workers demanded that the actor withdraw his statement and apologise to the nation.

"Khan's attitude and his remarks have hurt all the patriotic people of this nation as it is an insult to the martyrs (security personnel) and others who died in the 2008 Mumbai attacks," Sanjay Saxena, the state secretary of Shiv Sena, said. (IANS)
