Shiv Sena demands resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister |

| Pune, May 17: After the Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe came under the scanner for his involvement in a controversy over issuance of passport, Shiv Sena today demanded the minister's resignation. The party asserted that the criminal cases pending against him were of grave nature.
The editorial in Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamana made a direct attack on Bagwe stating that the cases against the minister include serious charges like abduction. The editorial also added that Bagwe has accused Pune Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh of conspiring against him.
The editorial further charged that Bagwe was not issued a passport because of his criminal record. It also expressed surprise at the fact that Bagwe still continues to hold the Home portfolio.
According to Shiv Sena, leaders feel that Bagwe belongs will receive the support the Dalit community and the people belonging to the community will come to the streets to support the corrupt minister. |
