Mumbai: After the recent attack on Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari's residence in Mumbai by the suspected Shiv Sena activists, the party admitted on Tuesday that the activists wanted to attack AICC spokesperson Manish Tiwari.

While addressing the reporters, Senior Sena leader Diwakar Raote made it clear that the party's real target was Manish Tiwari as he had made offensive comment against Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

Confessing that activists had wrongly attacked Manoj Tiwari's residence, Raote added that Shiv Sena is sorry for targeting the actor. He further asserted that although there is freedom of expression in the country yet Tiwari's comment against Thackeray could not be tolerated.

While responding to the attack, the Bhojpuri actor said that he does not want to take the issue further since the party has admitted their mistake.

A group of about 15-20 Sena activists on Monday attacked the residence of Bhojpuri actor in suburban Mumbai for his alleged statement against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.
