| Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has responded heavily to the allegations against him that Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad had paid a visit to his residence five years ago. Condemning the attempt of his opponents to rake up the issue of Miandad's visit Thackeray termed this attempt as "Goebbels' propaganda". He added that meeting was an initiative of cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar.
In an article for his party's mouthpiece 'Saamana', Thackeray added that an anti-Mumbai virus has spread all around and went on to add that it would have no impact on his party.
Thackeray further added that the Pakistan cricketer's visit to his house has been raked up and capitalised for the sole motive of political gains. He reiterated that such propaganda would not affect Shiv Sena and Shiv Sainiks.
Touching another aspect of the present row between Congress and Shiv Sena, Thackeray asserted that some factions have been hurt by the fact that Maharashtra has got Mumbai. He also stated that there has been a spurt of anti-Mumbai and anti-Maharashtra virus. |
