Bill to amend Representation of People Act dropped |

| New Delhi, Aug 21: The government today withdrew the Representation of People (Amendment) Bill, 2006.
Withdrawing the bill in the Rajya Sabha, Law Minister Veerappa Moily said it is being withdrawn on the recommendations of the Parliamentary Standing Committee.
"A new bill titled the Representation of People (Amendment) Bill, 2010, will be introduced in the current session," the minister added. (IANS) |
