| Nagpur: On 7th December 2009 a local court in Maharashtra adjudged that a relative of Indian president Pratibha Patil had unlawfully acquired a farmers land. However, the decision was never made public as both the complainant and the accused received the order only on 9th February 2010.
As per the order Ashok Amankar, a sub divisional officer with the court of Daryapur, arranged for the names of the relatives of Pratibha Patil to be struck off. Kishor Bansod, the complainant in this case, had alleged that the Indian Presidents family had got hold of the land through unlawful means.
A mutation entry dated 5th October 2007 was also annulled in this connection. The entry had mentioned various relatives of the Indian President such as Siddheshwar, Kishorsingh, Raghusingh, Omsingh and Bhawarsingh Shekhawat along with Devisingh Shekhawat who is Pratibhas husband.
Devisingh has however termed the allegations to be baseless that have been generated by the appellant in order to get publicity. He said that the complainant had joint possession of the land in question along with the five gentlemen named in the mutation entry.
He said that the Daryapur court has only agreed to the appeal in part. It has also ordered the revenue officers to measure the land once again for restoring ownership to the actual owners. He said that the appellant had actually been encroaching upon the land. He also said that Bansods part time of occupation of journalism led him to seek publicity at his familys expense. He said that he had only an acre of land in his possession. |
