| New Delhi, May 24: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met President Pratibha Patil and apprised her of the country's internal security scenario, said a communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Besides exchanging pleasantries with her on the occasion of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government completing its first year of the second term, Prime Minister Singh also discussed the president's forthcoming state visit to China.
President Patil's four-day state visit to China begins on May 26. The visit is to commemorate the 60th year of establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries. She will also inaugurate the first Indian-style Buddhist temple during her visit to China.
Singh's meeting with Patil lasted a little over 45 minutes, during which the two also discussed various issues of national and international importance. (IANS) |
