Launch crop insurance policy in Jammu & Kashmir: CPI(M)

| Srinagar, May 20: CPI(M) today insisted that the government of Jammu and Kashmir should launch the crop insurance plan in the state as soon as possible. Moreover, it also advocated for providing relief materials to the farmers who have been adversely affected by natural disasters.
Lots of crops and fruits of J&K farmers have been destroyed because of violent thunderstorms and heavy rains. CPI(M) pointed out that the farmers are in dire need of relief and said that the government must take necessary measures to suffice their loss.
The party also said that only Crop Insurance plan can support the farmers during emergency conditions like natural disasters. But as per them the government paid felt in unnecessary to implement the plan in the state. |
