Lucknow, July 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here today announced it would hold "Bhanda-Phod (unmasking corruption)" rallies across Uttar Pradesh from July 26 to Aug 9 against the state and the central governments.

"We would primarily target the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) governments for their anti-people policies," BJP's state unit spokesman Hriday Narain Dixit told reporters here.

"During the rallies we would unmask the Mayawati government by informing the masses about the corrupt practices prevailing in the state government, which just doesn't bother about proper implementation of welfare schemes as it remains busy all the time finalising projects for setting up parks, memorials and statues," he said.

"The ineptness of the Congress-led UPA in containing the inflation would also be another major issue during the rallies," he added.

According to party officials, the rallies will cover all the 72 districts of the state. Several senior BJP leaders, including those from the central leadership, would participate the rallies , they added. (IANS)
