| New Delhi, July 4: The government ban on a book that describes the Nehru-Gandhi family as a family of 'half-castes' is "perfectly in order", said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra today.
"The ban is perfectly in order. This kind of derogatory stuff should not be said about anybody. This book has got undue publicity because of the ban," Mitra told the media.
According to media reports, the union home ministry in March ordered an immediate stop to the publication and sale of the book titled "Nehru Gandhi Parivar: Secular ya Varnasankar (Nehru-Gandhi Family: Secular or Half-Caste)" on the grounds that allegations against the family were "malicious and insidious" and not supported by documented facts.
The book is authored by Hariram Gupta, a resident of Bhopal. (IANS) |
