Women's quota bill put to vote in Rajya Sabha without debate |

| New Delhi: India's upper house of parliament, Rajya Sabha, today put to vote the women's quota bill reserving a third of seats in parliament and state assemblies for women amid vocal acrimony and dissent. The bill was put to vote without debate.
The uproar by those opposing the bill continued in the Rajya Sabha. Moreover, the Marshals have been called in to evict members disrupting proceedings in Rajya Sabha.
