| New Delhi, July 21: Monday being the opening day of the Monsoon session of Parliament, much tumult is likely to be created in the House as opposition parties are gearing up to raise burning issues currently affecting the country.
A long list of dissatisfaction has been prepared by the opposition including the price rise issue and the stagnancy of Indo-Pak dialogue. Bhopal Gas Tragedy is also included in the list of topics to be discussed.
The UPA government has however got more to deal with in this session with frequent rail accidents disrupting the transport network and creating terror in the minds of the passengers. Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to face the storm in the Parliament. Her absence from Delhi may become a potent enough issue to create commotion.
The present tension prevailing in Kashmir and the spate of attacks by the Maoist rebels are also some pertinent issues that will be brought forward during the session.
This month-long session may be one of the most testing periods of the UPA government as the opposition is agitated over the prevailing issues. |
