Every Minister and MP should wear khadi: Union Minister Dinsha Patel

| New Delhi: Dinsha Patel, Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, today directed all the members of Lok Sabha to wear khadi, i.e. clothes produced from handspun fabric.
Patel also asked the members that if they are unable to wear khadi clothes, then they must carry at least a handkerchief made from khadi fabric. As per him, all these measures are being undertaken for the promotion of the handspun fabric among the masses.
Patel declared that the government has given its nod for setting up a khadi development agenda to regenerate the industry.
The programme will help in improving the khadi industry, revive revenues and increase employment for weavers and spinners and weavers, and aid in the development of cottage industries. |
