Beijing: Abhinav Bindra created history today by winning first ever gold medal in individual category for India. The win is also significant, as with this win India has entered into the medal tally of Beijing Olympics.
Abhinav Bindra won the gold with a spectacular performance in the 10 metre air rifle event. With this win, the champion Abhinav Bindra has ended the poor run of Indian shooters at the Beijing Olympics.
Earlier today, Khel Ratna awardee Bindra, finished the qualifying event joint fourth with Romania's George Alin Moldoveanu after the duo shot a score of 596/600.
The bespectacled shooter managed a series of 100,99,100,98,100 and 99.
