Patil donates Rs.1 lakh for Ladakh flood victims |

| New Delhi, Aug 23: President Pratibha Patil today contributed Rs.1 lakh towards the prime minister's national relief fund for the rehabilitation of the victims of the Aug 6 cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region.
"The president has contributed Rs.1 lakh from her personal account to the fund, towards utilization for the rehabilitation of the needy affected by the recent cloud burst in Leh in Jammu and Kashmir," said a press release issued by the president's office.
On Aug 6, flash floods triggered by a cloud burst devastated large parts of Ladakh's biggest town Leh. At least 183 people were killed and 200 people are still missing. (IANS) |
